Though King's career has been successful and prolific, his life has not been without hardship. Indeed, King has been quite candid about his battles with alcohol, marijuana and cocaine. In 1999, King was struck by van and endured a long, painful journey to recovery. Now in his sixties, King is able to reflect on his life and career with honesty, and, at times, amusement.

King continues to write for the love of the craft, and for his need to share the stories that live in his head. He maintains a relationship with his fans via his website, StephenKing.com, because he is interested in reader feedback. King's legacy will not only be that of a great author, but that of a relatable author.

A fun, engaging book.

I thought this book was really great, it's the second in the Guardian Angelino series and it grabbed me as much as the first. I really loved the suspense part of the book, I just couldn't put the book down until I was done because I just had to know what would happen next. It's set in Ireland with a very real and current story that could be right out of the news. The relationship develops slowly and it's very believable and tense, especially because the two characters have different goals, but they need each other to accomplish them. The hero, Marc, is a dream...funny, sexy and smart. And Devyn has deep emotional issues that really touched my heart. But in this book, the mystery and suspense are just as compelling as the romance. The action is non-stop and the twists and turns in the story are the kind that make you gasp out loud. And all the secondary characters - Vivi, Chessie, Uncle Nino, and even Agent Lang -- are essential for the story and just as much fun in this book as they were in the first. I truly love them all and I am so excited that Vivi's book is next and will be out in a month!

terrific romantic suspense

Devyn Hewitt Sterling remains shell shocked that her husband was a criminal who betrayed her. She is happy he is dead. Though raised by kind adopted parents, she wishes to know her biological parents. Sometimes you get what you she wish for as she learns who her birth father is; a fugitive.

As she thinks the acorn does not fall far from the tree, she travels to Belfast to warn her biological mother Dr. Sharon Greenberg that she could be in danger. Former FBI agent turned Guardian Angelino operative Marc Rossi is assigned to find and bring her home for their client the feds, but prefers keeping her safe in between kisses.

The second Guardian Angelinos romantic suspense (see Edge of Sight) is a terrific thriller as the lead coupling brings freshness to what would otherwise be a typical sub-genre frolic. Marc believes honesty is the only way to forge a relationship while Devyn fears telling him the truth will abort their relationship before it can get off the ground. Neither trusts the other, but the key to this taut thriller is not the lead pair, but her biological mom who is the target of her daughter, the Feds and some sleazy terrorists for differing reasons.

Just as good as the first

This is the second book in Roxanne St. Claire's Guardian Angelinos series. Sometimes while reading a series, the second book is always the weakest link. I'm happy to say that this is NOT the case here. I loved Marc and Devyn's story! It was every bit as compelling as the first installment. Plus, it's set in Ireland (which I love). If you want top notch romantic suspense, then this is the book for you. I can't wait till Vivi's story, which is the next book coming out later this month!

The Second Super Mystery

When a collage reporter goes missing it can only mean trouble for Frank and Joe. Frank and Joe split up to tackle two likely suspects. While Frank investigates a shady chemical plant, Joe must brake into a Casino owner's office to see if he is as fare as he says he is.
This is a great book full of action and suspense. The plot is well done and I liked this story. Truth is it is only a few pages longer than the longest regular book, I guess they judge by chapters not pages. I think Super Mystery 1 is better but this is still awesome.

Some people may go as far as to call these new hardy boys books trash. Not 100% true. The boys work for a secret organization called American Teens Against Crime. They are awesome! It may not be as good as the original books, sprinkling some truth into the trash theory. I, personally, think that the author uses too much bad language. Just a little is too much for me. I do a good job of ignoring them, though. Nice book.

VERY HELPFUL TRANSLATION

As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to get my students more enthusiastic about literature. I love the classics but I completely understand why they aren't the most fascinating to read. In an age where we have Facebook, Twitter and even Spotify, it's not easy to read language that is not in text speak. John Milton didn't write this tale with the expectation that he'd be competing with OMG and LOL. (Great as those phrases are -- Milton is better!)

This version of Paradise Lost offers the reader an opportunity to read the author's incredible sentences and engaging language without the headache of dissecting what he's trying to say. This is a brilliant English classic and now it's accessible to us all. Highly recommended to students studying in need of some extra help.

Mostly good

If you want to understand Milton's Paradise Lost, this is a good version of a modernized translation. Although fairly wooden in its prose, it doesn't change the meaning of many passages like Joseph Lanzara's paraphrase. The third (not fourth) edition of Norton's Critical Edition also provides a lot of notes, although it only has the original text. But like I always say: If you want to really get the most out of literature, the best version is usually two or three versions together.

The main thing I dislike about this version, is that is shouldn't have been too hard to put the original and modern translation on facing pages, rather than sometimes having the modern translation on the opposite side of the same sheet. I realize what BookCaps probably did was take the kindle version and just convert it to paperback without a thought to aligning the text on two side-by-side facing pages (which would be pointless in the kindle edition). It just seems like if you go through the trouble of making this modernized translation, you could take a day to re-align the pages for the paperback, so it wasn't so clumsy to compare lines toward the middle or end of a section.

Life Saver for AP Summer Work

I had to read paradise lost as an AP summer assignment, but didn't have the time to try to understand every single line. This book made everything so easy to understand, and I actually found it pretty interesting. The assignment I thought would take me a week to do took me about a day--- my friends bought it too and finished their assignment in no time. The best thing about this translation is that it actually goes line by line, instead of trying to paraphrase a bunch of lines. That way, when you need to refer to it for an essay or such, you can go back to the original and match up the lines. And I love the layout of the book. It takes small sections, shows the original version,and then translates it below or on the next page. Plus, it comes with just a translated version and the original version. No lie, this book is Heaven to an AP kid on a schedule!!!
