You'll love this series. The characters and events are unforgettable!

It's been years since I first read what was originally a six paperback book series by Robert Vardeman and Victor Milan. I've met Milan; these two authors were college friends when they wrote the series. Playboy paperbacks published the first editions in the 1980's, hence the lack of circulation and widespread dissemination. There's also lots of adult level sex and violence to be had, but in the current era of media with Game Of Thrones and the like, the adventures here aren't so shocking anymore. Suffice it to say, I've reread the series 4 times over nearly 30 years. The characters are well thought out and come to life in the pages here. I will not reveal the story elements, but there's lot's to be encountered here, and I wish it had been longer, but it's not. War of Powers part one takes in the first three books: The Sundered Realm, The City In The Glacier, and The Destiny Stone. Part two takes in The Fallen Ones, In the Shadow of Omizantrium, and Demon Of The Dark Ones. If you can get the two collected volumes here for a reasonable price, it will be well worth what you'll pay for them. Better enjoyment of a sex filled swashbucking epic just cannot be had. This series is one of my absolute favorites and if I could give it ten stars instead of five, I would. Enjoy without reservations!!!!

A great omnibus series, everyone should read this often over looked fantasy author

This review is for Volumes one & two of The War Of Powers.
The story begins with Fost Longstrider a space-courier being assigned the task of delivering a parcel, unbknownst to Fost the parcel contains a jug and in jug the spirit of a thousand year old spirit called Erimines The Ethical who is supposed to know the secret of imortality, now Erimines was when he was alive a prophet of some fame, always speaking that physical pleasure was a sin, after a thousand years of being stuck in a jug the only thing the spirit can think of is the pleasures he missed when he was alive.
As Fost delivers the parcel he descovers the man who the parcel was for dead, at a lost at what to do he head mack to his city, along the way Fost meets Priness Moriana who be druging Fost managed to steal the jug contaning the spirit taking it back to her sky city, when Fost wakes up he start his persuit.
And this persuit leads Fost into a war with demons and the evil sister of Moriana and her sky warriors. This series of books are great, plenty of action and adventure with a great cast of characters, my personal favourite is Erimines, his one liners are quit amazing, I couldn't stop laughing.
A great series well worth reading!!
